Returns to FBS as linebacker
Viramontes announced in December his commitment to UNLV for the 2019 season, Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
UNLV marks the fourth stop of Viramontes' career, including two stints at Riverside Community College in California. After spending his freshman season at Riverside, Viramontes transferred to Minnesota ahead of 2018, but quickly dropped to third on the depth chart at quarterback and decided to leave the Gophers. He then returned to Riverside and played linebacker in 2018, recording 66 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss. He'll continue to play on defense as he moves back to the FBS ranks and will have two years of eligibility left.
