Declares for NFL Draft
WRUSC
January 4, 2021
Vaughns announced Monday via his personal Twitter account that he'll forgo his remaining eligibility at USC to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Vaughns turns 24 years old in June and was a fifth-year senior, so he wouldn't have been able to do much to improve his draft stock by taking advantage of the NCAA granting all players an extra year of eligibility due to the pandemic-affected 2020 campaign. During USC's six-game slate in 2020, Vaughns nabbed 33 passes for 406 yards and three touchdowns.

College Football DFS: Week 15 Night Slate
December 12, 2020
Jeff Edgerton breaks down the DFS night slate, where the USC-UCLA rivalry game takes center stage. Can a healthy Dorian Thompson-Robinson round back into form and rise to the occasion?
Past Fantasy Outlooks
2020
2019
When the season began for USC in 2019, Vaughns was the top receiver for the Trojans. However, as the year when on, Vaughns’ numbers started to dip, though an ankle injury played a part in that. Even so, Vaughns finished with 74 receptions with 912 yards. Granted, that left him third on USC in both those categories. However, Michael Pittman, who had 101 catches, is now in the NFL. That is going to leave a lot of targets out there. If Vaughns stays healthy, a lot of those targets could come toward him. His senior season could be his first with over 1,000 yards.
Big things were expected from Vaughns in 2018 following a highly impressive true freshman season in 2017, but he regressed in most aspects. Despite a 15-target jump from the prior year, Vaughns saw his yardage drop from 809 to 674, yielding an ugly 2018 average of 6.6 yards per target. His recruiting pedigree and excellent freshman year remain distinctly positive indicators, though, so a bounce back of some sort should be the expectation, particularly if 2018 freshman quarterback J.T. Daniels improves. It's worth noting Vaughn's dominant game against Notre Dame in the final week, where he caught 12 of 14 targets for 120 yards and a touchdown.
