Entering 2018 NFL Draft
January 4, 2018
Andrews announced via Twitter on Thursday that he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2018 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
This year's top draft-eligible tight end prospect has officially decided to enter the draft after three remarkably productive seasons as a Sooner. Andrews (6-5, 254) was the 2017 Mackey Award winner, which is given to the nation's top tight end after he reeled in a team-high 62 receptions for 958 yards and eight touchdowns on 91 targets. Averaging over 10.0 yards per target is rare for a tight end prospect, and a glance at his film shows that Andrews has quality athleticism for his size. Assuming Andrews performs ably at the combine, he'll be the odds-on favorite to be the first tight end selected in this year's draft.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2016
Andrews has shown unique athleticism and a few moments of brilliance in his two years at Oklahoma, and he still remains one of college football's best NFL prospects at tight end, but it's time for the 6-5, 250-pound Andrews to take the next step. In his two seasons he has 50 catches for 807 yards and 14 touchdowns, but he might push for the 800-yard mark in this year alone after Oklahoma saw its other three leading pass catchers – Dede Westbrook, Joe Mixon and Geno Lewis – leave school after combining for 149 catches last year.
At 6-5, 244, Andrews runs as if he's a 220-pound wide receiver, and he might go nuts this year with Sterling Shepard no longer around. There's cause for concern, though – the Oklahoma scheme only set aside 19 receptions for Andrews in 2015 – but the fact that those 19 catches went for 318 yards and seven touchdowns hopefully made clear that Andrews needs to get the ball in 2016. The graduations of Shepard and Durron Neal leaves Oklahoma with a 130-catch shortage from last year, so it's difficult to imagine Andrews remaining in the periphery.
