Can't do anything on offense
October 31, 2017
Johnson was held to only two yards on one catch but rushed six times for 84 yards and a touchdown during the win over Tennessee on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Johnson is Kentucky's leading receiver this season, averaging 46 yards per game this season, but was essentially shut down Saturday as a result of quarterback Stephen Johnson was only able to complete six passes on the day. Instead, Kentucky relied on their rushing offense, which essentially shut out Johnson from any chance of production. He'll look to be a bigger part of the offense Saturday against Mississippi.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2016
With Jeff Badet leaving for Oklahoma as a graduate transfer, Johnson is the leading returning wideout for the Wildcats. Johnson actually outpaced Badet in receptions (39) and touchdowns (5) in 2016, only trailing the departed receiver by less than 100 receiving yards. Johnson is a smallish pass catcher, though has averaged 15 yards per grab in each of the last two seasons at Kentucky. With Ryan Timmons also gone, Johnson should be the top target for quarterback Stephen Johnson (no relation), though a healthy Dorian Baker should also figure into the mix.
Johnson is the “big play” threat in Kentucky’s trio of junior wide receivers, having averaged 15.1 yards per reception last season as a sophomore and his 694 receiving yards paced the Wildcats. What’s more, he was able to reach those numbers while playing in a low-scoring and plodding system. The Wildcats were intent on bolstering the offense this offseason by bringing in University of Cincinnati’s OC Eddie Gran and Quarterbacks Coach Darin Hinshaw, which should result in a more tempo-conscious approach on that side of the ball. While Kentucky was ranked 105th in the nation in Adjusted Pace last season, Cincinnati’s offense hummed its way to 10th in the nation in that category. With that, Johnson ought to be out there for more snaps in a more pass-happy offense in 2016. Johnson primarily does his work out of the slot, where he exhibits a knack for finding the soft spots in zones and getting open. He’s one of three underrated junior wideouts in Kentucky’s receiving corps and with Gran’s system in place and Drew Barker presumably taking a step forward as the starting QB this season, Johnson could be in line to take another step forward as a receiver in 2016.
