Bauta transferred from Georgia to Colorado State this offseason, but was unable to lock up a starter's role during fall camp. Instead, Nick Stevens started Friday's loss to Colorado, but really struggled and hit just 6-of-20 passes for 31 yards and two interceptions. Bauta entered the game in relief and was an efficient 6-of-9 on pass attempts for 32 yards and the team's only touchdown, so he appears to have done enough to take over as the starting quarterback. He'll face off with UTSA on Saturday for his first start as a Ram.
