The fifth-year senior faces an uphill battle to return to the team. Lehman will have to apply for a medical hardship waiver at the conclusion of the season that would grant him an additional year of eligibility. Coach Bill O'Brien said he believes Lehman still has a future in football if he chooses to work his way back to action. For Penn State, the injury is a blow to what was its deepest position. Losing Lehman and possibly Kyle Carter — who is day-to-day with an injury to his left arm — will likely force Jesse James into unexpected action.
