Washington State: Marquess Wilson Quits Team, Charges Abuse
Suspension
November 10, 2012
Wilson says he has quit the Washington State football team due to "physical, emotional, and verbal abuse" from the coaching staff, the Visalia Times-Delta reports.
ANALYSIS
Wilson was suspended by Washington State for at least one game for an unspecified violation of team rules. However, he charges the suspension was a coverup for abuses in the locker room. It's another controversy for Washington State coach Mike Leach. Wherever this leads, it looks like Wilson's time at Washington State is over and he'll likely next enter the NFL Draft.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2012
2011
Wilson has been an absolute monster since arriving at Washington State, routinely torching teams deep on the way to totaling 2,394 yards and 18 touchdowns in his first 24 games, including 1,388 yards and 12 touchdowns last year. Add the Mike Leach Air Raid offense to the equation, and Wilson should have even more opportunities in 2012. There could be Justin Blackmon/Michael Crabtree upside here.
The Washington State program doesn’t have much reason for optimism these days, but Wilson’s fantastic true freshman season in 2010 is a good starting point. He proved himself to be a great big-play threat, ranking 31st in the nation with 1,006 yards despite catching just 55 passes. It’d be nice if he were in a more efficient offense, but it’s hard to not be sold on Wilson after he burned Stanford’s tough and disciplined defense for 150 yards and a touchdown on the road last year.
