Carey announced Friday that he'll enter the 2020 NBA Draft and forgo his remaining three years of eligibility at Duke, Jeff Goodman of WatchStadium.com reports.

A blue-chip recruit from the 2019 signing class, Carey lived up to his billing during in his lone season at Durham, averaging 17.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. As anticipated, the 6-foot-10, 270-pound center will now move on to the next level, with Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports noting that Carey will give up his eligibility while signing with agent Jeff Wechsler, who isn't one of the NCAA's certified agents. Duke will look to replace Carey -- a likely lottery selection -- with a pair of newcomers in Columbia graduate transfer Patrick Tape and incoming freshman Mark Williams.
