Career ends unceremoniously
Frazier logged eight points (2-7 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Sunday's 68-53 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
Frazier had appeared in 31 or more games for five consecutive seasons at Illinois, but the 2022 postseason was largely one to forget. All season long, the Illini had been able to rely on the 6-2 guard for scoring, as Frazier checked in at third on the team with 11.6 ppg. Unfortunately, Frazier opened the NCAA Tournament with two points on 0-for-6 shooting against Chattanooga before scoring eight points on 2-for-7 shooting against the Cougars on Sunday. While Frazier has been a key factor on several Illinois teams -- including this year's that won co-Big Ten champions -- the Illini never were able to get to the Sweet 16 during his tenure. He'll end a long career with the most minutes played in Illinois basketball history, as well as the second-most field goals attempted.
