Off to the NBA
Grimes announced Friday via his personal Twitter account that he is declaring for the 2021 NBA Draft.
ANALYSIS
Grimes had the spotlight on him this season after last year's leading scorer Caleb Mills (13.2ppg) decided to transfer in early January after only appearing in four games. The former Jayhawk stepped up in a big way as he averaged 17.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, two assists and 1.4 steals in 32.7 minutes per game en route to earning All-American Athletic Conference First Team and was also named the league's Player of the Year. After helping lead the Cougars to the Final Four for the first time since 1984, Grimes will focus his efforts on going pro and will hire an agent, indicating his time at Houston has come to an end.
