Signing with agent, likely leaving
Alexander-Walker said Sunday that he plans to sign with an agent, effectively ending his college career, Mark Berman of The Roanoke Times reports.
ANALYSIS
A new rule instituted by the NCAA allows players to sign with an agent while still retaining their college eligibility, but the comments Alexander-Walker made on his personal Twitter account Sunday announcing his decision to enter the 2019 NBA Draft suggested that he has no intention of returning to Virginia Tech for his junior season. The Hokies' leading scorer in 2018-19 with an average of 16.2 points per game, Alexander-Walker was instrumental in leading Virginia Tech to the Sweet 16 while taking home All-ACC third team honors. He's projected to be selected in the first round of the draft.
