Smith announced Wednesday via his personal Instagram account that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Michigan to enter the 2021 NBA Draft.
ANALYSIS
After arriving from Michigan last offseason as a transfer from Columbia, Smith predictably took on a smaller role for one of the nation's top teams compared to what he enjoyed in the Ivy League. He was still an efficient supporting-cast player for the Wolverines, averaging 9.0 points and 5.3 assists while shooting a career-best 41.8 percent from beyond the arc. The 5-foot-11 guard likely lacks the size to hear his name called in the draft, but he could get a look in an NBA training camp ahead of the 2021-22 season.
