Rather than returning to Gonzaga for the 2023-24 or exploring a transfer elsewhere for what would be his sixth and final year of eligibility, Smith will get his professional career underway. He started in only one of his 37 appearances for Gonzaga but was a key rotation member, averaging 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.2 three-pointers and 0.9 steals in 20.8 minutes per contest. He was one of the nation's top three-point shooters between stops at Chattanooga and Gonzaga over the past three seasons, converting better than 38 percent of his attempts from downtown in each of those years.
