Mgbako averaged a solid, but perhaps unspectacular, 12.2 points and 4.1 rebounds during his freshman season at Indiana, and the five-star freshman closed the year with 24 points as his personal best scoring total. He shattered that total in his 2024-25 debut while also operating far more efficiently. The caliber of opponent certainly must be taken into account, but the high usage and versatile scoring ability shown Wednesday could be a sign a true breakout campaign is on the way for Mgbako.
