Retiring from basketball
Young (head) disclosed via his personal Twitter account that he has retired from basketball and will not pursue a professional career.
ANALYSIS
Young has logged five collegiate seasons -- all with the Buckeyes -- with his best scoring total coming as a starter in 2020-21, when he tallied 8.6 ppg over 27 games. He took a bit of a back seat this year to Zed Key, though his scoring (8.2 ppg) and rebounding (5.0 rpg) hardly suffered as a reserve. Young also dealt with an illness and a head injury down the stretch in 2021-22. His departure should open up more minutes for key, in addition to the development of four-star freshman center Felix Okpara.
