After starting 44 games across his first two seasons at George Washington, Mazzulla saw a reduced role in his first four appearances of 2019-20 under first-year Colonials coach Jamion Christian, averaging just 16 minutes per contest. By stepping away from George Washington, Mazzulla will presumably appeal to the NCAA for a redshirt, which would afford him two more years of eligibility. Regardless of whether the NCAA elects to grant him another year of eligibility, Mazzulla may still be forced to sit out the first semester of the 2020-21 campaign at Vermont.
