According to Dushawn London of 247Sports.com, Deng "chose Florida State because of the plan they (FSU's staff members) have for [him]" when he is enrolled at the university. The 6-foot-9 freshman will transfer there from Hampton. Considering that Florida State's updated roster barely includes multiple players (Taylor Bol Bowen and Christian Nitu) taller than 6'9", Deng has at least an adequate chance to be a primary forward or center for FSU. Neither the 6-10 freshman nor 2024 recruit have their new teammate's collegiate output. While enrolled at Hampton, Deng averaged 10.1 points on 46.0/39.1/79.7 shooting splits across his 33 games.
