Forgoes remaining eligibility
Sims signed with the Klutch Sports agency Wednesday, forgoing his remaining collegiate eligibility as a result, Taylor Estes of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sims had previously declared for the 2021 NBA Draft but didn't sign with an agent, which temporarily left the door open for him to return to Texas for his fifth and final year of eligibility in 2021-22. First-year Longhorns head coach Chris Beard never seemed to be convinced that Sims would stick around, however, as Texas brought in two transfer centers this offseason in Dylan Disu (Vanderbilt) and Tre Mitchell (UMass). With Sims now signing with Klutch -- which isn't certified by the NCAA -- he'll officially move on to the professional ranks.
