Calls end to collegiate career
Nunge announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account that he won't return to Xavier in 2023-24 for a seventh year of eligibility and will embark on a professional career.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old Nunge is unlikely to hear his name called in the 2023 NBA Draft, but he'll bypass another season of college basketball to get his professional career underway in the G League or overseas. After spending the first four seasons of his collegiate career at Iowa, Nunge joined Xavier ahead of the 2021-22 campaign. He enjoyed his best season yet as a sixth-year senior in 2022-23, averaging 14.2 points, 7.8 boards, 2.1 assists, 1.2 blocks, 1.1 three-pointers and 0.9 steals in 29.3 minutes per game over 37 appearances.
