Forgoing extra year of eligibility
FMichigan
April 15, 2021
Livers (foot) announced Thursday that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Michigan to pursue professional opportunities, the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Livers was a senior in 2020-21, he would have had the option of returning to Michigan for a fifth year with the NCAA extending all players an additional season of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 6-foot-7 forward will likely be sidelined until the fall while he recovers from the surgery he required earlier this month to address the foot injury he sustained in mid-March. Before missing Michigan's final five games with the foot issue, Livers was in the midst of his best season with the Wolverines. He averaged 13.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.2 three-pointers and 2.0 assists in 31.6 minutes per contest.
