Emoni Bates

ANALYSIS
After reclassifying for the 2021-22 class, Bates arrived at Memphis as a true freshman with much fanfare. However, the lanky guard struggled to meet expectations with the Tigers and was barely featured in head coach Penny Hardaway's rotation by the end of that season, prompting him to transfer to Eastern Michigan ahead of the 2022-23 season. Though Bates served as the Eagles' clear go-to option this past season and averaged 19.2 points, he shot just 40.5 percent from the field and 33 percent from three-point range and didn't make much of an impact as a creator (0.6 assist-to-turnover ratio) or as a defender. Though Bates' pedigree as a recruit will make him an enticing prospect for NBA teams, his inefficient production at a mid-major program could result in him sliding to the second round or going undrafted.
