Headed to pro ranks
Moretti signed with a non-NCAA-certified agent Saturday and will leave Texas Tech to pursue professional opportunities, Corey Evans of Rivals.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Moretti never officially declared for the 2020 NBA Draft, the 6-foot-3 guard has been drawing heavy interest from professional teams in his native country of Italy this offseason. Rather than sticking around in Lubbock for his final year of eligibility, the 22-year-old will look to cash in on a productive junior season in which he averaged 13.0 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.2 three-pointers per contest. The Red Raiders may have to replace both of their starting wings from 2019-20 in the event Jahmi-us Ramsey, who declared for the draft in April while maintaining his eligibility, also joins Moretti in the pro ranks.
