Headed to draft
Holmgren announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account that he'll forgo his remaining eligibility at Gonzaga to enter the 2022 NBA Draft.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren should be a candidate to be selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft following a brilliant freshman season at Gonzaga in which he averaged 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.7 blocks and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 60.7 percent from the field and 39 percent from distance. Standing seven feet tall, Holmgren has the height and length to be a difference maker at the next level and already sports above-average shooting and playmaking ability for a player of his size. Holmgren still has some work to do in the weight room, as he weighs in at just 195 pounds.
