FanDuel College Basketball: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel College Basketball series.

Welcome to another edition of our FanDuel Value Plays of the Week, for Saturday, January 16. We'll start by taking a look at the early slate of games between 12 PM – 3:30 PM, in what should a very exciting day of college hoops. We're right around the mid-point of the season and the conference schedule is in full swing, which means each and every game is as important as the next. Let's take a look at Saturday's plays.

12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Guards

DeVaugntah Williams, Texas Tech, $6,200 – The senior guard is averaging 13.6 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 1.9 APG and 1.2 SPG, which solid production across the board based on his corresponding price tag. Williams is a streaky scorer, but he'll have a nice matchup at home against Baylor on Saturday, where he'll be a sure bet to score in double-digits.

Malik Newman, Mississippi State, $5,900 – Newman is third on the team in minutes played at 28.4 MPG and second on the team in scoring at 13.1 PPG, which is pretty impressive for a freshman. He was highly touted out of high school, and he certainly hasn't disappointed up to this point. Newman has scored 14-plus points in five of his last six games, and he's certainly trending in the right direction.

Justin Bibbs, Virginia Tech, $5,700 – The sophomore guard is leading the Hokies in minutes played at 30.8 MPG. He's averaged 12.8 PPG up to this point and is coming off a 32-point performance against Wake Forest on Wednesday night. Bibbs is a streaky scorer, but he's put up 30-plus points in two games since the end of December and he shoots a blistering 56 percent from three-point land. At $5,700, it's hard not to give him a shot following such an impressive performance.

Other Notables: Wayne Selden Jr., Kansas, $7,300; Angel Rodriguez, Miami, $6,300

Forwards

Thomas Bryant, Indiana, $6,900 – The freshman center is averaging 12.2 PPG and 5.5 RPG in his opening campaign, to go along with 1.2 BPG across 22.5 MPG. Bryant gets into foul trouble from time to time, which has affected his minutes, but while on the floor he's been highly effective. Bryant shoots 72 percent from the field and runs the floor well for a big man. Minnesota has been awful this year, which should provide a great opportunity for Bryant to have a big impact. He's scored in double digits in six of his last seven games, including four performances over 18 points.

Tyler Lydon, Syracuse, $6,600 – Lydon isn't a premiere scorer, but he marks well in multiple categories and averages 31.7 MPG, which provides plenty of opportunity. The freshman forward is averaging 6.6 RPG, 1.4 SPG and 2.1 BPG, which gives him a consistent line across the board. Lydon thrives in the zone defense that Syracuse is notorious for, and he's only going to get better with time.

Isaiah Hicks, North Carolina, $6,100 – Hicks is one of six Tar Heels to average double-digit scoring, and he's played very well as of late. The junior forward has recorded double-digits in eight of his last nine games, and as long as he can stay out of foul trouble, he's a huge asset to the team. North Carolina gets a nice matchup on Saturday against NC State at home, and Hicks could play a huge role.
