DFS College Basketball: Wednesday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Wednesday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

One of the busiest college basketball days of the week is upon us, with seven top-25 teams in action and an eight-game slate for DraftKings' $15 Pull Up Jumper - featuring a $3k top prize. Meanwhile, FanDuel has a six-game slate ahead of their featured $5.55 All American contest and a $1,000 top payout.

Targets

David Duke, G, Providence ($8,600 DK, $8,100 FD)

I have Duke projected as my highest fantasy point scorer tonight and a big benefit he provides is that he's played 39+ minutes in eight of his last 10 games. He's the go-to-option for Providence, accounting for 28 percent of the team's shots when he's on the floor. In addition to his high usage rate, he's also posted three games with double-digit assists. Duke totaled 38 fantasy points in his first meeting with Marquette despite only shooting 5-of-18 from the floor. He should have an excellent chance to outperform his salary with a more efficient shooting night.

Brad Davison, G, Wisconsin ($5,600 DK, $5,200 FD)

Davison is averaging over 34 minutes over his last three games -- up from his season average of 29. Tonight, he gets a favorable match-up against a Maryland squad that ranks 10th in the Big Ten defensively. They are letting opponents shoot 36 percent from long-range, which should bode well for Davison -- a 39 percent three-point shooter who has attempted 21 threes over his last three games. He's also posted three 30+ point fantasy games this season and only needs about 20 to live up to his salary.

Justin Lewis, F, Marquette ($5,100 DK, $5,500 FD)

Lewis is a good option when looking to fill your lineup with some lower-cost options, as he leads Marquette with a 24.1 percent usage rate. He's also an effective rebounder, averaging seven over his last three games with multiple blocks in two of those contests. Although Marquette has four double-digit scorers, it's Lewis who leads the group in fantasy points per minute at .89. It's also noteworthy that in the team's first meeting with Providence, Lewis outperformed his salary with 27.5 fantasy points.

Fades

Jalen Tate, G, Arkansas ($8,700 DK, $5,800 FD)

Talk about a massive differential in pricing between the two sites, with Tate coming it at a whopping $2,900 higher on DraftKings. That's in large part due to his 25-point performance against a winless SEC opponent in Vanderbilt on Saturday. Things will be different tonight against Ole Miss, a team that has allowed just 96 points combined in its last two games. That makes him unplayable on DK, but a bit more reasonable on FanDuel at a below-average salary if you're playing multiple lineups and looking to diversify.

David Johnson, G, Louisville ($7,300 DK, $6,600 FD)

I would look to fade all Louisville players in this game, as most of them are overpriced against a slow-paced and defensive minded team in Clemson that will likely keep this game in the 60s at the most.  Johnson has only lived up to this DraftKings price tag in one of his last five games and comes in $1,100 higher than his last outing. His efficiency has also dipped over his last four games where he's shooting just 14-of-40 (35 percent) from the field.

Juwan Durham, F, Notre Dame ($6,500 DK)

In Notre Dame's earlier meeting with Virginia Tech, Durham was held to six points and three boards in 23 minutes. He's another guy that gets a bump in price after coming off one of his best games -- a 16-point performance against the struggling Hurricanes. That gives him his highest salary since the third game of the season. The Irish simply have better options to use in the more heavily used Prentiss Hubb ($7,800 DK) and the still under-priced Trey Wertz ($5,300 DK).
