It's a new NBA season, and with that, I am getting a new start as a fantasy hoops player.
Season long is not my flavor given my current lack of knowledge about the player pool, but the convenience of DFS and the rapidly growing popularity of daily hoops makes this an area I need to explore further.
The clown shoes are on. Here's the lineup I built for Wednesday's slate.
PG - Damian Lillard ($9,000) -- I was building around Russell Westbrook initially, but was steered toward Lillard as a player that could match the production of Russell's Brussels for $1,800 less.
PG - Jose Calderon ($4,900) -- Calderon ended up being the last player I placed in the lineup. The hope here is that he will provide a little bit of everything at a very fair price.
SG - Eric Bledsoe ($7,300) -- With the Mavs starting Deron Williams and Raymond Felton in the backcourt, Bledsoe should be able to exploit this very favorable matchup.
SG - Tony Snell ($3,900) -- I don't think he's related to Blake or Ian Snell, for that matter. Starting for the Bulls and carrying a sub-$4K price tag, Snell opens up cash for three stars (Lilliard, George, and Davis).
SF - Khris Middleton ($6,100) -- No Giannis, and no Jabari Parker on Wednesday.
SF - Paul George ($8,500) -- RotoWire Hoops Guru Shannon McKeown confirmed that George might cost $9,500 or so if he were healthy and producing at his previous levels at the end of last season .
PF - Anthony Davis ($11,200) -- I am told he's the best player in the pool most nights. Is this true?
PF - Joffery Lauvergne ($3,500) -- The Optimizer and Value Report love him. The bullpen confirmed this. I have never heard of this player.
C - Jahlil Okafor ($5,600) -- I hate to do this, as I'm still bitter about Duke's win over Wisconsin in the National Championship game, but I'm hoping he'll log heavy minutes and contribute plenty of points and boards from Day 1.
Contest Entered: $20K Wed NBA Dime (Single Entry) on FanDuel - $10.
