Full disclosure: I had to take my daughter Sasha (and SXM producer Ivy) out to dinner, so I DVR'd the game, intending to catch up when I got home. But we got back in time for most of the second half, and I couldn't bring myself to rewind it. So consider these second half observations, augmented by the box score.
• I don't know what to make of Andre Johnson's big game other than Matt Hasselbeck remembers when he was the best wide receiver in the league, and the game was against his former team, in front of his former fans. (I'm not implying that made Johnson play better, but maybe the Colts made it a point to get him the ball.) Going forward, I'd still prefer Donte Moncrief, though the coaching staff might force the ball to Johnson for another few games.
• DeAndre Hopkins is the favorite to lead the NFL in targets, and no matter who's under center, he'll put up big numbers this year. Even Pierre Garcon had a monster PPR season when he led the league in opportunities a couple years ago.
• Arian Foster should be a PPR monster too - he didn't have much room to run, but he caught nine passes. While Nate Washington and Cecil Shorts should be back, I'd still expect Foster to catch four balls a game.
• Brian Hoyer's game-sealing pick was bizarre and terrible. The Texans were moving the ball with ease, he had all day to throw, and you could see on the screen a rusher finally getting free and running full speed at him. I'm not sure whether Hoyer saw him or not, but Hoyer threw the ball just as the defender arrived, and it was pop up to the safety who was camped under it.
• Frank Gore didn't catch any passes, but he ran hard and doesn't look like he's 32 years old with 2,500 career carries.
• It was a stroke of genius on my part to lock in the Colts at pick 'em Wednesday morning, assuming Andrew Luck would play.
