Once again, Kevin Payne informed me of the Happy Hour contest, and I can't turn down an overlay (that's different than the problem some have where they can't turn down a lay.) In any event, last night I won a $25 seat in Friday's Grand Slam, but it still cost me $10, bringing my bankroll to $1,440.61.
Here's tonight's squad:
Pos | $10 Head to Head | $ | $5 MLB Rally | $ |
---|---|---|---|---|
P | Latos | 6200 | Latos | 6200 |
C | Posey | 4400 | Posey | 4400 |
1B | Zimmerman | 3800 | Zimmerman | 3800 |
2B | Rendon | 3200 | Gyorko | 2400 |
3B | Duffy | 3100 | Duffy | 3100 |
SS | Desmond | 3400 | Desmond | 3400 |
OF | Harper | 4800 | Harper | 4800 |
OF | Cain | 3500 | Gonzalez | 4700 |
OF | Gomes | 2400 | Robinson | 2200 |
Total | 34800 | Total | 35000 |
It's a short slate, and I imagine Mat Latos will be heavily owned at the price, even though he's been terrible of late. But he doesn't need to do much to earn it, and I wanted to stack Nationals against Matt Wisler and some Royals against Matt Boyd. I also was able to get a share of Buster Posey in Coors.
Update: When the Rockies lineup came out, I realized I had to use Carlos Gonzalez at home against Ryan Vogelsong, so I set another lineup with him in it. I had to downgrade at second base to Gyorko - who's facing my pitcher - but I don't mind if he hits a two-run HR against him. I'm hoping for a win in six innings with six Ks from Latos, and I don't expect him to pitch a shutout.
