A quick postscript from Friday: I bought in for $90, took back $82.50 for a loss of $7.50, bringing my bankroll to $1711.61.
I usually don't do a Monday slate, but Jeff Erickson baited me into using Colin Rea ($3000) today on the radio. I actually didn't set a full lineup on the air, but given what happened last week, I figured I'd go through the exercise. It turns out I missed the boat on the big contests but managed to enter two "Lucky 7" $7 small entry ones. Here are the lineups:
Pos | Lucky 7 | $ | Lucky 7 | $ |
---|---|---|---|---|
P | Rea | 3000 | Rodon | 6200 |
C | Lucroy | 2200 | Lucroy | 2200 |
1B | Abreu | 4100 | Abreu | 4100 |
2B | Dozier | 3600 | Dozier | 3600 |
3B | Rodriguez | 3700 | Rodriguez | 3700 |
SS | Correa | 4300 | Segura | 2200 |
OF | McCutchen | 5000 | McCutchen | 5000 |
OF | Trout | 4900 | Brantley | 4000 |
OF | Braun | 3900 | Braun | 3900 |
Total | 34700 | Total | 34900 |
It was hard to spend all the money with Rea if I stacked, so I just went with uncorrelated stars for the most part. I had intended to use Yan Gomes, but Jonathan Lucroy has a great matchup and was cheaper. For the second lineup, I gambled on Rodon building off his last start, and stacked Brewers at home. I hope I don't post too big a number because the maximum prize for this contest is only $250.
