Last night's slate was mildly profitable despite my highest-priced hitter in nine of 12 lineups, Bryce Harper, scoring only a quarter of a point. The key was Noah Syndergaard helping me cash in two, and also winning a $25 heads up. I invested $65 (eight $5 entries and one $25 one - the other three were free rolls) and took back $92.50 for a profit of $27.50. My bankroll was $985.10, now it's $1012.60.
The $25 heads up was against dinkpiece (Drew Dinkmeyer), and oddly enough he and I had five of nine players in common. I haven't played enough heads ups to get a sense of how rare that is on a full Friday night slate of games, but it seems pretty unlikely. So far in taking on the pros I'm 1-1, losing an ugly contest to al_smizzle (Al Zeidenfeld) and winning last night. I also lost a heads up to 007_fan last month, but because I don't know who that is, I'll conveniently omit it from my "vs the pros" record for now (it counted against my bankroll, of course.) If someone informs me 007_fan is in fact a DFS pro, i.e., a player who makes a living at it, I'll amend it.
