Just a few things that caught my eye:
- Emerson Etem scored his first NHL playoff goal tonight. To commemorate the moment, the Ducks grabbed the puck AND Jacob Trouba's jock, which hit the ice when Etem turned him inside out with that delicious move.
- There are times when Patrik Berglund looks as dominant as Mats Sundin. Then those times pass and we're back to normal.
- Winnipeg could have just as easily been up 3-0 in the series heading into tonight. They were that good. And that unlucky. Too bad, really.
- Craig Anderson is a good goalie. Ondrej Pavelec really isn't. Discuss.
- Double D or just double vision. Now that's the Devin Dubnyk of the Oil Patch that I remember.
- Only four teams have come back to win when trailing 0-3 in a series: Toronto (1942), New York Islanders (1975), Philadelphia (2010) and the Stanley Cup-winging Los Angeles (2014). #EasierSaidThanDone
- Pittsburgh cannot win if Sidney Crosby isn't logging heavy minutes. So stop taking penalties and then double-shift the dude. Your window is closing (and fast).
- Kevin Hayes -- the one who got away. He'd look good as a cheap complement to those monstrous contracts in Chicago, wouldn't he?!
- John Gibson who?
- Ryan Kesler -- one of the few players who truly thrives on verbal abuse. The more hate thrown at him, the better he plays. The Ducks really are a force.
- Hamburglar who? It's been nice knowing you. I don't even know if he gets an NHL contract next year. They wouldn't be here without him, but sometimes a hired gun is only needed for a specific task. Then you cut him loose.
- Speaking of Marty St. Louis -- it's about time he showed up. I'm sure he'll have a bigger impact in future series, but he's been performing in a silent movie for far.
- These West Coast games are absolutely killing me. But they're some of the best hockey I've seen in a while. Sleep is overrated.
