A couple weeks ago, I took a look back at my TGFBI team.
I wanted to do the same with my 2018 NFBC Online Championship team, which tied for eighth in the overall, mainly because I was curious myself about my later-round picks and in-season pickups.

My biggest takeaway here: what could have been! I shot myself in the foot quite a bit early on, taking players like Carlos Martinez, Eric Hosmer, Ian Happ and Miguel Sano in my top 11 picks.
The Two Blakes (Treinen and Snell) offset those losses and then some, but I'm surprised looking back at just how not great the top half of my draft was. I see that there's quite a bit of room for improvement in my game.
Juan Soto was obviously the huge in-season pickup here, and I got him at a relative bargain compared to what he went for in a lot of leagues. Miguel Andujar was also a big difference-maker, and Omar Narvaez was a significant plus as a $1 pickup in a two-catcher league.
Keep putting in the time to know the player pool and the market. Know that you're not going knock every pick out of the park, but if you do the homework, you will out-draft the majority of your opponents, particularly in the 15-30 round range. That's where winning owners really separate themselves.
