Rarely does a game go so much like one would imagine it to go. The Packers won easily at home, the Bears stuck with the run to a fault, Aaron Rodgers threw four touchdowns, two of which were to Jordy Nelson and Mike Glennon had four turnovers. There's not much else to take away, except for the two big injuries to Ty Montgomery and Davante Adams.
• Speaking of which, watching the condensed (40-minute) version of the game, I saw (and heard) Adams get drilled, saw him lying flat and the stretcher come out for a second, but then it was onto the next play. Apparently, he was okay in the hospital later, but I wouldn't be surprised if he were out a week or two.
• Montgomery ran well early, but his snap counts and usage have been high for a player who's built more like a receiver. The early diagnosis is broken ribs, which sounds like it could cost him extended time. Montgomery's backup Jamaal Williams left with a knee injury, and third stringer, Aaron Jones was pressed into duty as a result.
• Jones' final numbers - 13 carries for 49 yards and a score - were pedestrian, but he passed the eye test, showing more shiftiness and burst than Williams has so far. The severity of Williams' injury is unclear, but I expect Jones - who's also a capable pass catcher - to be a waiver wire priority, and rightly so.
• Jordy Nelson is a touchdown-catching machine. He's not explosive anymore, but he's the favorite to lead NFL receivers in touchdowns.
• Randall Cobb looks completely healthy again.
• Mike Glennon made a terrible throw on the interception, but otherwise didn't look bad. He was delivering strikes and timing the ball well to his receivers as they came out of their routes. He just doesn't have anyone who can make a play other than running back Tarik Cohen.
• Jordan Howard wasn't efficient, and he dropped a pass, but he was in on some third downs, caught two balls and scored a touchdown. He's a powerful runner, and the offensive line is decent.
• Cohen didn't get a ton of work, his biggest play was called back on a hold and he had to share backup carries with Benny Cunningham. Cohen did have four catches.
• Deonte Thompson saw nine targets, but hauled in only five for 44 yards. Kendall Wright led the team in receiving, while Markus Wheaton didn't get a single look.
• The Bears sure know how to run out a clock with a deficit. From the fourth-quarter play calling you'd have thought they were ahead 35-7. Unfortunately, I streamed the Green Bay defense everywhere, and it's hard to score points when the team playing from behind is running the ball every play. Not only does it speed up the game and give you fewer opportunities, but you rarely get a chance for a sack or a pick.
• At least I made the Packers minus seven my best bet. It was surprising they weren't bigger favorites at Lambeau facing Glennon, and every once in a while things go the way you expect.
