To think the football gods didn't hate the Jets enough already, down goes Quincy Enunwa, who was ruled out for the season Monday as a result of the neck injury he sustained Saturday. Fortunately, this isn't supposed to be a career-threatening issue as Enunwa was given a six- to nine-month timetable to return and should be back in full force next year. However, in combination with the departures of Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, Monday's development leaves the Jets with 255 targets from last season's offense unaccounted for. Not to mention, Robby Anderson now sits atop the depth chart with ArDarius Stewart, Chad Hansen and Charone Peake filling the spots under him until Jalin Marshall returns from a four-game suspension. Alongside them is TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who -- at 6-foot-5, 262 pounds -- possesses a much larger frame than any of the aforementioned pass catchers and could become a serious factor in the red zone.
- Not 300 miles away, the Bills added Anquan Boldin on a one-year, $2.75 million contract to compete for the No. 2 option behind Sammy Watkins. Interestingly enough, Boldin already has experience working with QB Tyrod Taylor, as the two played together for the Ravens in 2011 and 2012 when Taylor served as the backup to Joe Flacco. Last year, Boldin joined the Lions for a season and went on to lead the team in touchdowns, so he doesn't appear to be wearing down entering his 15th season in the league and should be a reliable security blanket for Taylor underneath. However, this news likely means bad things for rookie Zay Jones' impending workload, as well as Andre Holmes'.
- Helping fill Boldin's void in Detroit is rookie wideout Kenny Golladay, who's turning heads in training camp. At 6-foot-4 and 213 pounds, the 2017 third-round pick certainly has the size you'd want in a red-zone threat. However, he'll enter the season firmly behind Golden Tate and Marvin Jones, and will be competing with TE Eric Ebron for looks as well.
- Redskins fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Josh Doctson, who exited Sunday's practice with a hamstring injury, is considered day-to-day moving forward. Head coach Jay Gruden said Doctson is only dealing with a "slight pull," which was likely the best-case scenario for the sophomore receiver who missed 14 games in 2016 to an Achilles injury.
- Giants WR Sterling Shepard returned to practice Monday. The second-year Oklahoma product was carted off the field during last Wednesday's practice with an apparent ankle injury, though later testing revealed he only suffered a bone bruise. However, it isn't clear if he'll be able to suit up for the Giants' preseason opener Friday against the Steelers.
- Vikings RB Latavius Murray, who underwent surgery in March to remove bone spurs from his ankle, was removed from the Physically Unable to Perform list Monday. After missing the first two weeks of training camp, it seems he's fallen behind rookie Dalvin Cook on the depth chart and will likely be playing catch-up throughout the preseason. It's far too early to count him out, though, and I'm looking for this position battle to heat up in the coming weeks.
- Veteran defensive tackle Vince Wilfork announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday. The dominant defensive lineman will finish his 13-year career with 559 tackles, 16 sacks and four forced fumbles.
