Just a few things that caught my eye:
- Loyalty is fleeting. I get it. Matt Murray was the Pens' top dog all season and their future, all rolled up in one. Marc-Andre Fleury, as good as he was, was merely a stand-in. Poor flower.
- Two points for Sidney Crosby. That was his first multi-point effort since the you-know-what on May 1. Just saying.
- Ryan Johansen's loss will be far greater than just losing a point-per-game player. He and his big body had become dominating against the heavy, dirty Ducks. Anaheim in 7 now. Nashville is on its way out.
- John Gibson -- punching bag or drive-by victim? Or both. discuss.
- So ... who the heck donned Sens' jerseys on Friday night? They sure weren't the same studs as the ones that rang up that 5-1 win Wednesday. Can you spell disjointed? Disorganized? How about DOMINATED.
- Corey Perry is one high-mileage dude. But his OT winner shows he still has the ability to elevate his game to another level when heroics are needed.
- Take in Saturday's Canada-Russia game at the World Championship. Toronto's Mitch Marner may be Canada's best player in the tourney. Ryan O'Reilly has been very good, but Marner sees the game in ways that few can.
