Just a few things that caught my eye:
- Do you think the Habs regret that Ryan McDonagh trade? Where are Scott Gomez, Tom Pyatt and Michael Busto any way?
- Saturday night is for hockey. Saturday afternoon is for mountain biking, at least in my world. NBC ratings have sucked for years -- why does the league sacrifice -- or should I say, take for granted -- Canadian audiences? Ugh.
- Can someone please wake me up when the Canadiens' flight arrives in Montreal? They haven't shown up yet.
- Norwegian Hobbit 11, Brampton Blast 7. Hands up if you honestly thought Mats Zuccarello would lead the Rangers in scoring and Rick Nash would need 15 games just to score his first goal.
- Speaking of the Habs -- their goose is cooked if Carey Price really is hurt. And there won't be enough time to make pate, either.
- The Red Wings have done it again. Anthony Mantha, selected 20th overall in 2013, scored the game winner Friday night at the Memorial Cup. It just happened to be his 82nd goal in as many games this season for Val-d'Or. There may be several teams who kick themselves for passing on the grandson of five-time Cup winner, Andre Provonost. Particularly San Jose. Is Mirco Mueller really better than this kid? #latebloomer
- The Ducks' top-four defenders didn't give John Gibson a chance Friday night. It's probably for the best, though -- the Ducks would have been tempted to make him their starter next season had he pulled out a Game 7 win. Another year (at least) in the AHL really is needed.
