I've always had the feeling whether it was gambling or doing daily fantasy either I'm running hot or cold. Until yesterday, I was basically frozen. While working yesterday, I took the time to sneak out to the new casino in Buffalo to play some craps (the greatest game in the casino) and see if my luck had changed. Down almost $200 and down to my last $8, I was tempted to put it on the yo which would pay out 15:1 on the come out roll. Instead, I waited and a hard six came out on the initial roll. I put the final eight bucks on the hard six (mathematically a terrible bet) and two rolls later it came up. Now with $72 to play with, I realized my luck might be turning around. I walked out of the casino an hour later up a little over $300.
I got home and checked out the prices for players on Draftkings.com, and as I stated in last night's blog came up with a lineup i felt the best about in a while. Around nine o'clock it was pretty much a sure thing I was going to cash, it as a matter of how much based on Jeff Teague's performance in the tournament's I entered. Unfortunately, the play was David Lee over Teague but hindsight is always 20/20. I still cashed in tournaments with the lineup I gave but it was for a minimal gain.
I had another break in my work day today and went back to the casino, hoping my luck would continue. Within 10 minutes, I was down $300. I cashed in my last $50 and a gentleman and his wife bought in next to me. He proceeded to hit four points in a row and turn things around quickly. Next, his wife rolled and her first four rolls were all hard eights. To explain how crazy that is (and how much the table won), the odds are 1/1,679,616. In other words, it won't happen again in my lifetime. Needless to say, the pit boss came over and the dice were examined for about five minutes. I walked out of the casino up another $200 bringing my two day total to $500. So am I on a hot streak? I hope so and let's see if I can keep it going tonight.
PG - Darren Collison, $4900 - Great matchup and he's logging heavy minutes with Jamal Crawford out.
SG - Kent Bazemore, $4500 - His price still isn't where it should be, so he'll stay in my lineups.
SF - Kevin Durant, $11,000 - For me, he's the best player out there tonight.
PF - Markieff Morris, $5500 - Got in foul trouble last game, look for him to bounce back tonight.
C - Chris Bosh, $6400 - Was terrible last game but I think he bounces back.
F - Boris DIaw, $4300 - Is starting and does enough to warrant this cheap price.
G - Marco Belinelli, $4100 - I don't feel great about this pick and I might switch it before the game starts.
Util - Blake Griffin, $9300 - He should have a monster game. I thought long and hard about pairing him with DeAndre Jordan but the money didn't work with Durant in my lineup.
I won $150 last night, digging myself a little out of the hole. I'm now down $348 for the month. I only risked $68 with there being a small slate of games and missing out on the bigger 50/50s, being out to dinner.
