Dwight Howard: We Have Contact. The Lakers' newest center in their line of positional dominance participated in contact drills. Coach Mike Brown said that he was just waiting for doctor's clearance before putting him in scrimmages. Howard, who had back surgery last year, should be ready to start the season.
Rasheed Wallace. Sheed Comes to Gotham. Wallace officially signed a contract with the Knicks. The veteran big man did not play last season after providing career-low numbers in 2009-10 with the Celtics. Wallace could provide low post defense for the Knicks, but he is beyond the point of fantasy relevance.
Andrea Bargnani: Ate a Meatball or Two Over the Summer. Bargnani packed on 15 pounds over the offseason in an effort to become more of a power player. The 7-0 Italian has never averaged more than 6.1 rebounds in his career. If he can up his rebounding by a carom or two, he could be one of the best centers in the fantasy game.
Devin Harris. Hampered with Knee Issues. Harris was limited for the second straight day with an injured knee in his first training camp with Atlanta. He was held out of contact drills. Harris has seen his fantasy relevance dwindle over the last five seasons, but he could in line for a career resurgence with the Hawks.
Manu Ginobili. One More for Manu? Ginobili, who is in the last year of his contract, hinted that this could be the last season of his career. The Argentinean is 35 years old and is entering his 11th season in the league. Ginobili was limited to 34 games in 2011-12 because of a broken hand and a strained oblique.
Brandon Roy. Practices Fully. Roy participated in 5-on-5 scrimmages in practice and said that his knee held up quite well. Roy had platelet-rich plasma therapy which allowed him to strengthen the right knee that caused him to temporarily retire. If he continues to be healthy, Roy could be the answer to the Timberwolves' seemingly endless problems with finding a shooting guard.
