Just a few things that caught my eye ...
- Men vs. boys. Do I need to say anything else? Only this -- no eight seed has ever won the Cup.
- It appears Brian Burke is right -- big, strong and talented centers make a team go round. Darryl Sutter has a raft of them. Dave Tippett does not.
- Seven consecutive road wins this season. Nine straight road wins over two seasons. Both at least tie a record. Wow.
- If the Yotes can't win with Martin Hanzal, Shane Doan and Derek Morris, how the heck are they going to win without them? Shanabans loom for all; Doan may be the only guy who doesn't get a suspension. The other two hits were ugly and malicious.
- Dustin Penner = stud? He has been one of the Kings' best players since being moved up to the Jeff Carter-Mike Richards line. So if you own him in a keeper league, you need to trade his arse before the Cup is awarded. This is a blip. A big blip. Someone might just bite.
- The last team to start the playoffs 11-1? Pittsburgh in 2008. It didn't work out so well for the Pens that year ...
- I wonder how soon Greg Jamison changes his mind about buying the Coyotes.
- There are actors and then there are ACTORS. But Dustin Brown clearly wasn't acting when he was hacked by Mike Smith in the second period. Then again, there are a lot of actors who get awards that don't deserve them. Right?
- Mike Smith continues to be at the top of his game, but he can't stop 'em and score 'em, too. But it's just a little spooky that Jonathan Quick hasn't necessarily stolen a game since the start of the Blues' series. He hasn't had to do that. Just wait until he does.
- I'll give credit where it's due. Jeff Carter's hattie was nice. Very nice. Too bad he only has four goals this postseason.
