Just a few things that caught my eye ...
- Both the Rangers and Caps looked gassed as Saturday's game progressed. Three games in four days will do that to you. Wait -- is that really all that unique?
- Just happy to be here. Seems like the Blues really meant it this time. The brooms are out ...
- Can someone please wake me up after Phoenix and Nashville are done? The first two games were barn burners. The next two were a smoldering mess.
- The glass slipper just doesn't fit Brian Elliott any more. Where is Jaroslav Halak when you need him?
- Why do Dale Hunter's efforts to turn Alexander Ovechkin into a 200-foot player get so much press and Peter DeBoer's successes in doing so with Ilya Kovalchuk get so little?
- Don't count on Alexander Radulov in next year's fantasy draft. He dogs it once in Game 5 and the guy will likely never play on this side of the pond again.
- Mike Green accomplished something Saturday that few have done this season -- he shot it throughHenrik Lundqvist. What a shot.
- Jay Beagle lost 10 lbs after Wednesday's triple-OT loss. So how did he recover? Bison burgers on Thursday chased with shots of olive and avocado oil Thursday and Friday. Maybe the latter was why he sucked in the faceoff circle today.
- Los Angeles -- the team I'd least like to see succeed this postseason. I think it all comes down to Mike Richards. There are just some guys worthy of hate ...
- Buy-low on Drew Doughty. His keeper owner might still have that sour taste in the back of his throat after the regular season. He looks like he's figuring things out.
- I filed an A.P.B. for Shea Weber late Friday. Where the heck was he? And has Ryan Suter played his last home game in Nashville?
- Can someone please remind me to never, ever, EVER overlook Daniel Briere in another postseason pool? He has 12 points, including a league-leading eight goals, in nine games and has been held off the score sheet just twice.
