Just a few things that caught my eye ...
- Finally -- the Marc-Andre Fleury we've been expecting. He was absolutely sensational in the third period. 'Sbout time.
- Have we seen the the last of Nicklas Lidstrom? This year was the first where I can honestly say there were times when I just didn't notice him on the ice. And it wasn't because he was his quiet, effective self.
- Is Gabriel Bourque this year's breakout player? He looks like he has come into his own playing alongside David Legwand and Radulov.
- Note to the Pens and Flyers -- do not score first. You won't win. The team that scores first has gone on to lose every single game.
- I wonder what Drew Miller will charge for his number 20 jersey next season. Ryan Suter is sure to want it.
- Evgeni Malkin is playing a dangerous game. He's skating on the edge of supplemental discipline -- he's been more than a little out of control. Just ask Sidney Crosby.
- Speaking of Crosby, I'm more than a little concerned about that Malkin hit (and then the collision with the goal post). Crosby was slow to get up and just wasn't the same player afterwards. Sad to say it was Malkin's best hit of the night.
- The Flyers and Pens have combined for 50 goals in five games. That's almost the same number of goals scored in the three other Eastern Conference series combined. Crazy.
- The Wings were the angriest with Alexander Radulov's return. Guess they looked into their crystal ball and saw their future.
- Back to Nicklas Lidstrom. The soon-to-be 42-year-old, future Hall of Famer will make a decision about his future once he 'decompresses.' It's the same song we've heard now for a few seasons, but somehow, this time feels different. Just a hunch. I hope I'm wrong.
