I'm in the Sirius/XM hosts playoff league, and had some tough decisions on who to use this week. Keep in mind that it's a "one-and-done" league - you can only use a player once. So it's not just a question of trying to find the guy that can produce the most, it's also about making sure you have enough players to use in subsequent rounds. After the jump is my lineup, with the decisions I had to make:
QB - Joe Flacco. I still have Flacco, Eli Manning, Alex Smith left. I think it's mandatory to use Flacco here, and have the winner of the SF-NYG available to me Super Bowl week. I used Brady and his six TD's last week.
RB - Ray Rice, Danny Woodhead. Here's where the upsets last week hurt me. Instead of using Darren Sproles, Pierre Thomas or one of the Packers' RB's, I used up Frank Gore and Ahmad Bradshaw. I'm hoping to be able to use BGE and Brandon Jacobs in the Super Bowl. Otherwise, I'll be left with the likes of Kendall Hunter and Ricky Williams.
WR - Wes Welker, Michael Crabtree, Torrey Smith. I used up Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks last week. I'm not really regretting that, especially Nicks because he was so productive, but I wasted the GB and NO wide receivers. Still available to me - Boldin, Manningham, Branch, Kyle Williams. One of these WRs is my flex.
TE - Ed Dickson. It's a gamble to leave both NE tight ends on my bench, saving them for the Super Bowl. I've used Vernon Davis already - yes, I never used Jimmy Graham. Big #FAIL there.
K - Lawrence Tynes. Leaves me both Gostkowski and Cundiff available for the Super Bowl.
DEF - Ravens. The opposite of my QB situation - I have both the Niners and Giants available for the Super Bowl.
