The Patriots made Mark Sanchez and the Jets look like this (no such thing as watching that too many times). But, the week was highlighted by David Nelson's sheer chivalry.
Overall: 14-5-1
Last Week's Predictions:
New England +1.5 at New York Jets: WIN
The Jets offensive efficiency is still grouped in with likes of Denver, Cleveland, and Seattle and the Patriot defense capitalized. Tom Brady, captain of the league's 2nd highest offensive efficiency, returned to form on a night highlighted by a TD drive to end the first half after a horrible Sanchez timeout.
Oakland +7 at San Diego: WIN
It felt good to get this win in the bag on Thursday. Carson Palmer played extremely well, far above expectation. It certainly helped that Michael Bush was so dominant thanks to San Diego's soft run defense - they rank just 26th in opponent-adjusted run defense. Also, what was Vincent Jackson doing on that Philip Rivers' interception in the end zone?
Week 11 Predictions:
Buffalo +2 at Miami
You saw David Nelson's swag. Unfortunately, the Bills have been spiraling in the wrong direction, losing 2 straight and may end up on the outside looking in come playoff time. On the other hand, the Dolphins have won 2 straight after losing their first 7, and the spread reflects these trends. Buffalo is still the superior team, ranking 2nd in the AFC in defense-adjusted rushing offense. Add in Miami's 30th ranked pass defense, ahead of Indianapolis and Kansas City, and you've got a rebound game for Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Chicago -3.5 vs San Diego
Chicago has looked dominant the last two weeks and owns the NFC's top defense, highlighted by a pass defense that has prevented over 80 points from being scored that an average defense would have allowed. They have been so efficient thanks to their ability to force turnovers. Combine that with Philip Rivers' propensity to throw interceptions this year and the Bears should find themselves with a healthy lead early.
