Just a few things that caught my eye:
- Roberto Luongo -- all or nothing. Love, that is. Demon one day, hero the next. Is it the contract that makes him such a target? Or is it because he has the personality of a horse's arse?
- Last time I saw diving like this was in the World Cup last year. Nothing worse than a grown man grabbing his jewels and writhing in pain after tripping over another man's foot. I don't want to hate hockey the way I hate soccer...
- Six goals in five games -- can Tim Thomas be any better? Or any more frustrated? Could he join Jean-Sebastian Giguere as the best loser to win the Conn Smythe?
- Really -- is there a worse interview than Ryan Kesler? If I hear another "(sic) I'll tell you after I review the game film..." I'm going to break something. C'mon, man. Go buy a personality off eBay and then stand in there and answer for your play.
- This series feels a little like an NBA series -- home ice is all but a guarantee. I hope that means there's a seventh game.
- Chris Tanev -- calm, cool, collected. This guy should have been in there eons ago.
- And we actually wondered how a team with a power play as bad as Boston's could ever win the Cup. They're three-for-20 in the Final. Vancouver is a hapless one-for-22. One for FREAKING 22!
- Back to Bobby Lou. Give him credit for his outstanding play Friday night. But his post-game comments showed the arrogance that makes him a hated man. Saying you would have stopped the shot that went in because you don't wander out of the crease the way Thomas does is premium bulletin board fodder. It's not like the Bruins don't already have enough inspiration to beat your arse.
- Reffing is a tough game made even harder with instant replay and digital video recorders. It took neither of those, though, to see that Zdeno Chara ran into Timmy Thomas, not Ryan Kesler. But the latter got two minutes. The refs got a period of 18,000 plus chanting "Refs you suck." And they did.
- Is Dennis Seidenberg one of the best shutdown defenders in the league? And just how many teams are kicking themselves for not seeing it?
- Never, ever, EVER get satellite internet. My blogs have gotten later and later because of so-called "weather outages" from my satellite ISP. Funny thing, though -- my satellite TV didn't go out once during those seven days of skittish internet coverage.
