Off to a good start last night, winning both of my selections.
Boston Red Sox -230
Red Sox 2, Twins 1 in 11
Josh Beckett was solid, going seven innings and allowing just six hits and a walk while striking out five, but Nick Blackburn pitched equally well, going 6.1 and allowing just one run on seven hits and three walks. He also struck out five. Needed a Carl Crawford walk-off double to earn the victory.
Colorado Rockies -180
Rockies 2, Mets 1
Didn't quite go as I expected, with Jhoulys Chacin walking six men over six innings of work. Fortunately, he allowed only two hits and one run, while striking out five. Chris Capuano was the hard luck loser, despite 6.2 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks. He added four strikeouts for a better-than-expected outing. Chris Iannetta was the offensive hero, going two for three with two runs, an RBI, a double and a HR.
