12:00 PM ET ESPN: #7 Michigan State 7-0 (-5.5) @ Northwestern 5-1 - Both teams feature very efficient QBs in Dan Persa and Kirk Cousins. Persa is 4th in the nation in QB passer rating (173.28) and 1st in completion percentage (78.0|PERCENT|), while Cousins is 11th in passer rating (163.39) and 25th in completion percentage (66.3|PERCENT|). Where the offenses diverge is the running game as the Spartans have three great RBs in Edwin Baker, Le'Veon Bell, and Larry Caper. The Wildcats defense will have to continue their excellent play on 3rd down this season (29.5|PERCENT| completion allowed) if they're going to hang in this game. I think the line is as low as it is because the Spartans have been playing for 7 weeks straight coming into this game and have yet to leave the state of Michigan, while the Wildcats are coming off a bye week, playing at home, and this is their homecoming weekend. The road team has won 4 out of the last 5 in this series.

12:00 PM ET ESPN2: Syracuse 4-2 @ #20 West Virginia 5-1 (-14) - The Big East as a whole has looked awful this season, but the Mountaineers have played well thanks in large part to their defense. The defense is top ten nationally in total yards per game, yards per play, 3rd down conversion percentage, and in points allowed per game. Of course it also helps that the Mountaineers are 13-1 at home under current coach Bill Stewart. The 'Cuse will need to slow down senior RB Noel Devine and hope sophomore QB Geno Smith makes mistakes to give themselves a shot at winning. The Mountaineers have won 8 in a row against the Orange.

3:30 PM ET CBS: #6 LSU 7-0 @ #4 Auburn 7-0 (-6) - The biggest match-up in this game is Cam Newton vs the LSU defense. Newton is a 6'6" 250 lb beast of a QB that can beat you with his legs, as well as his arm. He's stats are pretty impressive as he's first in the nation in yards per attempt (10.5), second in QB passer rating (108.52), first in rushing TDs (12), and is 11th in rushing yards per game (122.9). The LSU defense is just as impressive as they're third in yards per play (4.0) and rank in the top ten in both rushing and passing yards allowed per game. Stacking the box and forcing Newton to throw against their stout secondary is probably in their best interest. The Auburn defense is very vulnerable against the pass (ranked 108th), but LSU doesn't have the personnel (this is putting it lightly) to exploit this weakness. They are however good at running the ball with junior RB Stevan Ridley. Problem is, Auburn has an answer for that as their run defense is pretty good (15th ranked). If LSU can dominate defensively and in special teams, they'll have a shot at pulling the upset here. The home team has won 9 of the last 10 games in this series.
LSU Offense: 328.6 total yards/game (92nd), 5.2 yards/play (80th), & 40.4|PERCENT| 3rd Down (59th)
QB: JR Jordan Jefferson - 82.4 ypg passing, 2 TDs, 7 INTs, & 53.2|PERCENT| comp.; 29.6 ypg rushing & 4 TDs
QB: JR Jarrett Lee - 67.5 ypg, 2 TDs, 1 INT, & 72|PERCENT| comp.
RB: JR Stevan Ridley - 98.0 ypg & 6 TDs
WR: SO Russell Shepard - 24.4 ypg rushing & 2 TDs; 20.3 ypg receiving & 1 TD
WR: SR Terrence Toliver - 40.9 ypg & 2 TDs

Auburn Defense: 368.9 total yards/game (64th), 5.2 yards/play (46th), & 36.3|PERCENT| 3rd Down (40th)

Auburn Offense: 481.1 total yards/game (9th), 7.2 yards/play (7th), & 46.6|PERCENT| 3rd Down (29th)

3:30 PM ET ABC/ESPN: #16 Nebraska 5-1 (-5.5) @ #14 Oklahoma State 6-0 - The Cowboys sophomore WR Justin Blackmon leads the nation in receiving yards per game (159.2), but he'll be going up against Cornhuskers senior CB Prince Amukamara, who is one of the top DBs in the nation. That match-up is what this game is all about as Oklahoma State's #3 ranked passing offense takes on Nebraska's #1 ranked passing defense. Cowboys senior RB Kendall Hunter (138.3 ypg rushing) will play a huge roll as the Cornhuskers are giving up 157.3 ypg on the ground. I expect Taylor Martinez to bounce back from his poor game last week against Texas. The OK State run defense however, is only giving up 124.5 yards per game, so they'll likely stack the box against him and force him to throw the ball. Nebraska was killed last week by dropped passes. They'll have to fix, if they're going to take advantage of OK State's abysmal pass defense (208.0 ypg allowed). The Cornhuskers have lost 3 of the last 4 against the Cowboys and haven't won in Stillwater since 1995.
Cornhuskers Offense: 445.7 total yards/game (24th), 7.4 yards/play (3rd), & 42.0|PERCENT| 3rd Down (46th)

3:30 PM ET ABC/ESPN: #13 Wisconsin 6-1 @ #15 Iowa 5-1 (-5.5) - How do you handle success? That's what this game will come down to. Last week the Badgers beat #1 ranked Ohio State at home, while the Hawekeyes went to Michigan and beat the Denard Robinson lead Wolverines. Wisconsin's junior RB John Clay and frosh RB James White will find it tough to run against Iowa's 7th ranked run defense, meaning they'll have to rely on senior QB Scott Tolzien, who is 4th in the nation in completion percentage (70.9|PERCENT|). Iowa will be facing many of the same issues when they hand off to sophomore RB Adam Robinson. Like Tolzien, QB Ricky Stanzi is very efficient as he ranks 3rd in the nation in QB passer rating (108.50). This game should be a relatively low scoring affair as the over/under is 48 points. The Hawkeyes have won 6 of the last 8 games in this series.
Badgers Offense: 433.9 total yards/game (28th), 6.6 yards/play (18th), & 52.0|PERCENT| 3rd Down (9th)

7:00 PM ET ESPN: #8 Alabama 6-1 (-16.5) @ Tennessee 2-4 - Last season, this game came down to a blocked field goal by Terrance "Mount Cody." This season, the game probably won't come down to a final play, but that doesn't mean the game isn't worth watching. I'm looking to see how this 'Bama team does as they go on the road for the first time, since they lost at South Carolina. They handled Ole Miss last week 23-10, but the team only rushed for 100 yards on offense. Ingram and Richardson need to show that fire and tenacity that made them so tough to beat last season. The longest run either of them had against Ole Miss was for 12 yards. They need to get their swagger back because in two weeks they're going to Baton Rouge for a night game. Under Nick Saban, 'Bama is 3-0 against the Vols.

7:30 PM ET ESPN2: North Carolina 4-2 @ Miami 4-2 (-6.5) - The Tar Heels have lost a slew of players this season to NCAA investigations or injuries, yet they're 2-1 in the ACC Coastal division, just as Miami is, and within 1 game of Virginia Tech. To make matters worse, this week they lost their starting TE, senior Zack Pianalto to a broken leg. Offensively, junior QB T.J. Yates is second in the conference in passer rating (154.33), which is good because the run game for the Tar Heels is 10th in the conference yards per game (125.3). For the 'Canes, they'll rely on their defense to carry them and hope that junior QB Jacory Harris doesn't kill them. Harris' 9 picks are tied for 2nd most in the conference and watching him play, you'd think the safeties were invisible, the way he throws into double or even triple coverage. It's no surprise that he's 84th in the nation in passer rating (117.60). The home team has won last 9 of the last 10 games in this series.
Tar Heels Offense: 376.8 total yards/game (63rd), 5.8 yards/play (47th), & 38.8|PERCENT| 3rd Down (73rd)

8:00 PM ET ABC: #1 Oklahoma 6-0 (-3) @ #11 Missouri 6-0 - When the Sooners have been challenged by a ranked team this season, their defense has risen to the occasion. Two of their three best defensive games in terms of total yards allowed were against Florida State and Texas. They have a worthy opponent this week in the Tigers and junior QB Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert threw for 361 yards, 3 TDs, and 0 INTs last week against Texas A&M. Junior WR Wes Kemp and junior TE Michael Egnew both registered double digit catches in the game. The Tigers defense has been very stingy this season, only once allowing any team to score more than 13 points against them. They'll have their hands full however, against the Sooners offensive trio of QB Landry Jones, RB DeMarco Murray, and WR Ryan Broyles. Murray is 9th in the nation in average yards from scrimmage per game (140.5). Under Bob Stoops, the Sooners are 7-0 against the Tigers.
Sooners Offense: 460. 0 total yards/game (17th), 5.3 yards/play (71st), & 47.1|PERCENT| 3rd Down (26th)

8:00 PM ET CBSC: Air Force 5-2 @ #5 TCU 7-0 (-18.5) - Since their 30-21 win over Oregon State in week 1, the Horned Frogs really haven't been tested, but that may change this week against Air Force. The Falcons run a triple-option offense that leads the nation in rushing yards per game (346.9). They'll be going up against a TCU defense that only allows 90.3 ypg rushing, so something will have to give. Offensively, the Horned Frogs are led by senior QB Andy Dalton, who threw for 273 yards and 4 TDs last week against BYU. Also in that game, a team physician was "verbally accosted" by coach Gary Patterson, when sophomore RB Ed Wesley was knocked out with a concussion and not able to re-enter the game. TCU AD Chris Del Conte has come out and said it was "a misunderstanding." Either way, there's extra attention on Patterson this week coming into the game. The Horned Frogs are 6-2-1 all time against the Falcons.
Falcons Offense: 470.1 total yards/game (13th), 6.3 yards/play (26th), & 52.7|PERCENT| 3rd Down (6th)

10:15 PM ET ESPN: Washington 3-3 @ #18 Arizona 5-1 (-6.5) - The Wildcats took a big hit last week in their 24-7 win over Washington State, as junior QB Nick Foles suffered a sprained knee that will keep him out for a couple weeks. Foles is 2nd in the nation in completion percentage, so his loss will be significant. He'll be replaced by junior Matt Scott, who started the first three games of last season, before Foles was given the job. The Wildcats will be going up against a soft Huskies defense that's allowing almost 200 yards per game on the ground and 200+ in the air. The Arizona defense isn't anywhere near as porous, as they allow only 284.3 total yards per game to opposing offenses. The Huskies will continue to rely on their great QB senior Jake Locker. Last week against Oregon State, Locker threw for 286 yards, 5 TDs, and 1 INT. It hasn't mattered if the Huskies have been at home or on the road, they've alternated wins and losses all season long, which is sort of odd. The Huskies are 17-8-1 all time against the Wildcats.
