Just a few things that caught my eye:
- P.K. Subban is more than just another pretty offensive face. He's much better with angling out and using his stick than I expected. And he has an impressive nasty streak.
- The real reason the Flyers made the postseason? The ultra-hot Princess Madeleine of Sweden. It seems her fiance split the sheets with a college student and she bolted to NYC to the supportive arms of long-time "friend", Henrik Lundqvist. It's all about priorities, you know -- practice or princess? Princess or practice? Better yet, practice with the princess...
- I love guys who show a little personality in their media quotes. But I'm not sure I want to know the part of Dan Boyle's personality that goes with his post-game quote, "I know I'm Debbie Downer sometimes."
- Which loss will be worse? Andrei Markov's knee injury or Jordan Staal's apparent high-ankle sprain? At first glance, it feels like it's Markov. But it's not like Evgeni Malkin can win faceoffs or kill penalties...
- How soon before Patrick Marleau's flu and IV drip sweep the room and become this year's excuse? The Wings were just tired Thursday night; two nights off is more than enough to re-charge the batteries.
- I expected a furious first 10 minutes or so from the Sharks; I also expected the trickle-drain of their batteries the rest of the way.
- Thirty-nine goals in the regular season, 219 over the last five seasons and one this postseason? Priceless. That's our Dany Heatley.
