Just a few things that caught my eye:
- One-for-33; 'nuf said.
- Alexander Ovechkin was good but far too predictable. Even I knew what he was going to do... and when he was going to do it.
- Montreal has a new mayor; he's bilingual but Czech isn't Quebec's second language. Jaroslav Halak was un-freaking believable. Guess his hand was shaking when he saw Ovie in the line at center after the game.
- It's already started -- the Habs are on a run to the Cup. Give me a break. It was the fifth largest point differential in an upset win since the early '50s. Attention Montreal fans -- you "get" to play Sidney and the Pens.
- The Caps are to the East as the Sharks have been to the West -- discuss.
- Hal Gill and Josh Gorges laid on Ovechkin like a wet horse blanket. And he responded like a champion equestrian with a brand-new allergy.
- Great win for Montreal but it's a bad day for the NHL. The league's best team and its most dynamic player are no longer part of the game. And oh ya -- my playoff fantasy team is screwed. So is yours.
- The Habs' win underscores one very simple fact -- hockey is a team game and it always, ALWAYS overtakes a talented individual. It's the only sport that's like that. Individuals can dominate -- and change the complexion of the game -- in every other sport. But individual talents can be completely negated in hockey.
