Just a few things that caught my eye:

• Who's the better goalie -- Marc-Andre Fleury or Rob Scuderi? Kick save of the season.

• Whatever you do, DO NOT listen to the Penguins' radio broadcast team. If I hear another over-wrought, wildly tangential play call, I'm gonna drive to Pennsylvania myself with mp3s of real broadcasters. The volunteers who do junior games on cable up here are way better. WTF does "they have the turkey on the table" actually mean, any way?

• Marc-Andre Fleury made 25 saves; the rest of his team made 20. Brooks Orpik himself had six blocked shots. I like Fleury but he's the most consistently inconsistent netminder I've seen in a while. 

• The Pens have won all three previous series' on the road; the Wings are 11-1 at home this postseason. The home team has won every game this series. Somebody's string of luck is about to end. And the guy who will determine it is -- you guessed it -- Fleury. My money is on the red guys even though I want the flightless birds to prevail. I don't like those odds.

• Mario Lemieux was seen in the coaches' room diagramming plays for Dan Bylsma and his coaching staff late Monday afternoon. I guess he figured if it worked for Len Barrie in Tampa Bay, it could work for him, too. 

• Speaking of Lemieux, he was picked first overall in the NHL Entry Draft 25 years ago to the day Tuesday. Another interesting but useless fact gleaned from the factory that is called Stanley Cup over-reporting.

• Paging Marian Hossa. Mr. Hossa, please report to the official scoresheet. Valtteri Filppula has more points than you. Sorry, I forgot -- you're still having that stage fright problem at the urinal that you had last game. Even I know that's far too long to hold it, buddy.

• News flash -- Dany Heatley wants out of Ottawa. Guess he got frightened that Jacques Martin was too close for comfort, what with him across the border and down the highway in Montreal.

• Brent Sutter steps down as coach of the Devils, possibly paving the way to brother Darryl who needs a coach in Calgary. Blood is thicker than water. But when things eventually go bad -- as they always do -- what exactly happens at Thanksgiving at the Sutter house? Can you fire your brother and still expect him to share the turkey? Damn -- that's what that Penguins' radio guy was talking about. Now I get it.
