Not only is he the star of the electrifying Celtics-Bulls series, but he's committing flagrant fouls and throwing elbows. And his foul on Brad Miller at the end of Game 5 was as flagrant as it gets.
It was pure cowardice by the refs not to call for two shots and the ball when Rondo clapped Miller across the face while Miller was driving for an open layup. If you can slap someone's face full force as they're moving toward the rim without getting within 12 inches of the basketball, there's no point in having flagrant fouls. Just put some pads on these guys and make it tackle.
That said, Rondo's emerging as one of the elite players at the position. At this point, you'd take Chris Paul, probably Deron Williams and maybe Derrick Rose over him if you were starting a franchise. Tony Parker's close, but I'd have to go Rondo.
